Oblique
Figma → After Effects

Your Figma design, rebuilt in After Effects as real layers.

Select a frame in Figma, export, import in After Effects. What lands is not a flat screenshot and not a pile of PNGs — it is the design, rebuilt as native layers: shapes, text, images, masks, gradients, shadows, blurs, blend modes and the glass Figma renders. Nested the way you built it, ready to animate.

What you get

Imported, not redrawn.

The part of the job that is pure re-typing — redrawing rounded rectangles, re-entering type, re-matching colours, re-stacking shadows — is what Oblique replaces.

Native layers

Shapes, text, images and masks arrive as After Effects layers you can select, retime and animate — nested the way you built them in Figma.

Light, not pictures

Shadows, blurs, gradients, blend modes and Figma's glass are rebuilt with effects you adjust using the controls you already know.

Stays on your machine

No account, no cloud, no telemetry. Imports work offline, and everything you make with Oblique is yours — client work included.

Requirements

What it needs

  • macOS 11 or newer
  • After Effects 2024 (24.0) or newer — 24.3 or newer for editable per-character text
  • Figma with the Oblique exporter plugin
  • The fonts your design uses, installed on the machine doing the import

Oblique transfers design, not prototypes: Figma interactions and Smart Animate are not moved, and nothing animates on import. You get a clean composition and animate it yourself.
